The Benefits and Compensation Division is responsible for payroll and all employee benefits from initial hiring throughout an individual’s career continuing on into the retirement years. This Division manages bi-weekly payroll, career service payments and various bonuses. The Division also administers all insurance products offered by the State of Arkansas, including but not limited to health and life insurance, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts for medical and daycare expenses, and Arkansas Diamond Deferred Compensation. In addition, the Division administers retirement annuities, the Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) and any death benefits for active employees or retirees. The Benefits and Compensation Division reports payroll and annuity information to the IRS and prepares for tax purposes the W-2s for employment and 1099s for retirement annuities.
