Assistant Chief Engineer for Maintenance- Steve Frisbee

Steve Frisbee is the ARDOT Assistant Chief Engineer for Maintenance, overseeing the divisions of Construction, Maintenance, Materials, Bridge Operations, and Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSMO).

Steve’s career with the Department began as an Engineering Student Intern, working four summers prior to being hired in January 1997 as a Civil Engineer I at Resident Engineer Office #34 in Texarkana. He followed the engineering career path and became Assistant Resident Engineer in October 2001 and was promoted to Resident Engineer the following year. Steve became the District 1 Construction Engineer in August 2008 and the District 3 Engineer in July 2013. In April 2020, he was promoted to the Division Head of Transportation Planning and Policy. In April 2021, he became the Assistant Chief Engineer for Operations, assuming the role of Assistant Chief Engineer for Maintenance in April 2023.   

Steve has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is a Registered Professional Engineer.
